Rajat Manohar Patidar (born June 1, 1993, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India) is an Indian international cricketer renowned for his right-handed top-order batting and occasional off-spin bowling. He represents Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket and serves as the captain of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Early Life and Education

Patidar’s cricketing journey began at the tender age of eight when he joined a cricket club, with his grandfather playing a pivotal role in nurturing his passion for the sport. Despite initial reservations from his family, who preferred he pursue higher education and join the family business, Patidar’s dedication convinced them to support his cricketing ambitions. He completed his schooling at New Digamber Public School in Indore and graduated from Guru Vashishtha College in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh.

Domestic Career

Patidar made a remarkable first-class debut for Madhya Pradesh against Baroda in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy on October 30, 2015, scoring 60 runs in his debut innings and a century in the second innings. His consistent performances solidified his position as a key player for his state team. In the 2021–22 season, he played a crucial role in leading Madhya Pradesh to their first-ever Ranji Trophy title.

Indian Premier League (IPL) Career

Patidar’s IPL journey began in 2021 when he was signed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Although he had moderate success initially and was released ahead of the 2022 season, he made a significant comeback as a replacement player. He grabbed attention with an unbeaten 112 off 54 balls against Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2022 eliminator, showcasing his potential as a formidable batsman. International Career
